Introduction to Tigy AI
Explore Tigy AI's voice agent platform: browser conversations, phone support, HTTP tools, knowledge bases and post-call webhooks.
About Tigy AI
Tigy AI is a conversational voice AI platform for building, testing and operating AI voice agents over the browser and phone. You define your agent's instructions, connect documents and tools to your systems, and review conversations from your workspace.
Use the platform to organize customer support, collect information from potential customers or look up data during a call. Actions that depend on an external system, such as checking appointment availability or recording an order, require a tool configured for that system.
How Tigy AI works
During a conversation, speech recognition converts the caller's speech into text. The language model interprets that text alongside your agent's instructions and context; speech synthesis turns the response into audio. Your agent can also consult documents or invoke tools you have enabled.
Tigy AI manages the providers and models for language (LLM), transcription (STT) and speech synthesis (TTS). You use the voices available in the platform without configuring external AI providers. To receive phone calls, you configure a telephony integration separately.
Choose your starting point
| Your goal | Recommended guide |
|---|---|
| Create an agent and talk to it in your browser | Your first agent |
| Answer calls on a phone number | Connect telephony |
| Look up live data and answer from company documents | Tools and knowledge base |
| Send conversation data to your system after a call | Send call data with webhooks |
| Review conversations and track usage | Agent runs and usage |
Essential concepts
- Voice agent: combines the instructions that guide a conversation with the resources enabled to answer questions and perform actions. See the voice agent introduction.
- Workspace: organizes your agents, integrations and activity. See workspace management.
- Tool: looks up data or performs an action in an external service during a conversation. Configure an HTTP tool and explain in the prompt when to use it.
- Knowledge base: contains documents your agent can consult to answer questions about your company. Learn how to add knowledge.
- Webhook: sends selected data to your system's endpoint when a call ends. See webhooks.
- Run: records a conversation, including status, duration, transcript, recording and usage details when available. See runs and usage.
From your first conversation to phone support
To begin, sign in to the Tigy AI dashboard and access your workspace. Browser testing does not require a telephony configuration.
- Define a task. Write how your agent should introduce itself, what it should ask and how it should handle requests it cannot resolve.
- Test in the browser. Follow Your first agent. Try common and unexpected questions, then adjust the instructions.
- Connect the resources you need. Add documents and tools, test the answers and verify actions in your systems.
- Configure inbound calls. Connect a telephony provider, add a number and assign an agent to it. See inbound calls.
- Review the result. Inspect the runs and configure webhooks if you need to send data to another system.
Capabilities and integrations
- Telephony: follow the guides for Twilio, Telnyx and SIP.
- Handoff: configure call transfer to a supported destination. Transfer is not available for web calls.
- System integrations: use HTTP tools during the conversation and webhooks after it ends.
- Operations: review runs and usage, reports and workspace billing.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a phone number to test an agent?
No. You can test your agent in the browser before configuring a telephony provider. Follow Your first agent.
Can an agent book appointments or update my CRM?
Those actions require a tool connected to your system. Configure the necessary API, instruct the agent when to use it and test the action before making it available to customers. A knowledge base supplies information; a tool performs the action.
Can I choose an external LLM, STT or TTS provider?
The platform provides managed services. Voice options are those available from Tigy AI. See the guides for LLM, transcription and voice.
